RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will primarily be responsible for feature development to serve the user-experience using Django (Python) and JavaScript. The role will be focused on developing dashboards, visualizations, and summary presentations to be leveraged by our partners for victim-centered policing. In addition, you will be assisting in deploying monitoring tools to detect vulnerabilities in high-risk online content.
QUALIFICATIONS
Full-stack development experience in developing web applications, RESTful APIs, Front-end: HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, React, JavaScript
3+ years programming in Python or a similar programming language
2+ years experience deploying code to a cloud environment (preferably AWS)
2+ years experience with SQL databases (preferably Postgres)
Familiarity with JavaScript libraries (jQuery or React)
BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
This position is mostly remote or flex (depending on your preference), but the candidate must live in Pennsylvania or Colorado, with a preference given to Pittsburgh candidates
Nice to have: Experience developing data scrapers
Nice to have: Experience with Elasticsearch, CloudSearch, Solr
