Marinus Analytics has offices in Pittsburgh and London. We are a women-owned business founded in 2014 from Carnegie Mellon University’s Auton Lab. Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a Product Management Specialist to join us. This is a multi-disciplinary role combining market research, business development, and software engineering support.
This Product Management Specialist role will primarily be responsible for assisting the Engineering leadership in the commercialization of new technology services with our safety tech practice. The position requires skills and an ability to perform cross-functional tasks between our engineering and strategic client engagement areas of the company with an aim to bring new company innovations into the global public and private safety sectors.
POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES
New Product Management: Oversee a specialized portfolio of SaaS adjacent services, ensuring they meet market demands and strategic goals. Keeping track of each product’s performance in the market to inform decisions about future development.
Business Development: Explore new client opportunities within the public and private safety sectors, forgoing strategic early adopter partnerships to enhance product functionality and refinement.
Market Research: Lead market research initiatives to identify customer needs, competitive landscapes, and unmet opportunities for innovation. Utilize insights to guide product development and positioning.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software development and client engagement leadership to support testing, product demonstrations, and to perform outreach and communications.
Deliverables Creation: Ensure the creation and delivery of high-quality outputs such as business cases, marketing requirements, and customer documentation. Drive excellence in all communication and project materials to support product strategies and market positioning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree highly desired.
Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in product management, particularly within SaaS environments focused on public safety technologies.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the policing and public safety sector, with a proactive stance towards market dynamics and customer needs.
Analytical Skills: Strong capability in making data-driven decisions supported by thorough research and analysis.
Communication: Exceptional communication abilities, with proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as good presentation skills
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with designer tools (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) or visual design experience is a plus.
